DETAILS ABOUT THE PROGRAM

QMA PROGRAM

Program Details

  • Duration: 8 weeks
    • Classroom: 60 hours
    • Clinicals: 40 hours
    • Total: 100 hours
  • After completing all course requirements, students can sit for a written test administered by Ivy Tech Community College.
  • Upon passing the test, students are placed on the Qualified Nurse Aide Registry for the State of Indiana.

Cost

  1. Option 1: Pay in full before the first class – $1,275.00
  2. Option 2: Payment Plan:
    • $400 deposit (mandatory).
    • Weekly payments: $175.00 OR
    • Bi-weekly payments: $350.00.
  • Prices include the optional insulin certification course.
  • Non-refundable Fee: $400.00 (deducted from total cost).

Class Schedule

  • Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays
  • Time Options:
    • Day Hours: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
    • Evening Hours: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM

  • Session 1: January 14, 2025 – March 6, 2025 (Last day to register: January 3, 2025)
  • Session 2: March 18, 2025 – May 8, 2025
  • Session 3: May 16, 2025 – July 10, 2025
  • Session 4: July 18, 2025 – September 11, 2025
  • Session 5: September 19, 2025 – November 13, 2025
  • Session 6: November 18, 2025 – December 31, 2025
    • Makeup classes for Session 6: 11/19, 11/26, 12/3, 12/10, 12/17, and 12/30

Clinicals are scheduled between you and the affiliating facility. Clinicals can be complete any shift, any day of the week but must be completed within 30 days of classroom completion. We do NOT provide clinical sites. You can use a site of your choice.

Requirements for QMA Certification

Who Can Become a QMA?

These are all the requirements for qualified medication aide program certification.

Qualifications
  1. CNA Requirement

    • Must be a CNA with 1,000 hours worked in the last 24 months.
    • Note: HHA hours do not count toward this requirement.
  2. Age

    • Must be 18 years old.
  3. Education

    • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  4. Background Check

    • Pass a background check.
  5. Math & Reading Test

    • Successfully pass a math and reading test.
  1. Scheduling the Entrance Exam

    • Schedule a math and reading test on-site.
    • Pay the $400 non-refundable registration fee.
  2. Test Availability

    • Tests are administered on a weekly basis.
    • Additional days/times may be offered upon request, based on availability.
